  1. Longmeadow is doing it's part with the weather to make sure I want to GTFO. Single digit temperatures getting worse by the day are NOT OK and making those 90 degree temps in Buenos Aires look extra Bueno.
  2. How did I pack my life in one suitcase and still have room to spare? How many things am I forgetting?
  3. Will the Canes win the Orange Bowl tomorrow? Will we see the Turnover Chain? Is the Turnover Chain going to be a thing next year? Should I bring my Turnover Chain on Remote Year? #gocanes
  4. Should my New Years resolution be to care less about the Canes?
  5. Can't wait to spend NYE with a bunch of randoms in a foreign country! (not sarcastic)
  6. This time next year those randoms are going to be my travel family!
  7. Last night I got caught up watching Remote Year vlogs and they were great (and way cooler than a blog). Is anyone going to read this blog? Do I attempt to learn to vlog?

Serbia is hands down the most random country on my travel itinerary this year. My boss told me he would rather go to prison than go to Serbia (LOL). I heard similar sentiments from most people about the country. The conversations would go something like this: Friend 1: "So where are you living next month?" Me: "Belgrade... it's in Serbia." Friend 1: *confused look* "Is Serbia the same as Siberia?" Friend 2: *equally confused look* "Who goes to Serbia? Isn't it really cold there?" The Prague Blague... see what I did there?

I wanted to skip writing a post about Prague. My feelings about the city are complex, and potentially controversial (I didn't love it... eeeek), and part of me wanted to just put it behind me as I start living the Serbia life. But writing these posts about each month really has helped me process my experiences, and hopefully has given you (yes, you, all 4 of my blog readers out there!) some insight into the weird world of living in a different city/country every month. Why Does This Blog Exist?

I've never thought of myself as someone who would blog. Leave the writing to journalists and post on Facebook or Twitter to get your thoughts out...or just keep a journal... or just... talk to people? But I couldn't put in words how much I have relied on the blogs, vlogs and stories of Remote Year participants and other long-term travelers while preparing for this experience I'm about to embark upon. THEY HAVE BEEN SO HELPFUL. I would be lost without them. Which brings me to the whole point of this post: Why am I starting this blog? 1. Blogs helped me prepare for Remote Year, I'm hoping to pay it forward. Maybe one of my entries will help a future traveler or Remote Year participant. 2. So my awesome family and friends can stalk the shit out of my travels. Guys, I miss you already.
